You Heard It Here: Hollywood Halloween

In the spirit of Halloween I wracked my brain trying to think of a good Hollywood Halloween story. Though I have a couple that revolve around a cast dressing up for rehearsals, the earliest one I remember is on Roseanne when we were shooting our first Halloween episode. (Roseanne was a big Halloween lover. It was bigger than Christmas to her. LOL.) Anyway… if any of you have seen the episode where Darlene and Becky are stirring the green goop on a big pot on the stove, I played the hand that comes out to reach for them (in rehearsals all week). Darlene struggles to keep the hand in the pot. It was fun, but I’m pretty sure I got the job because I was small and could fit under the cabinet. <G> Since I don’t have any pics from my days on the set then, here’s a pic of some my cast this year on my new show.

We have a sheriff in the house. Michael Jackson, meow kitty, gnarly hockey player, high school dude and down in front, mini Shaft. (BTW- Yes, that’s me giving my description… the cast may disagree with me. LOL.)

What about you? How was your Halloween? Did you dress up? If so, spill. Inquiring minds want to know!

  1. I’m scary enough without a costume, but I did wear an orange t-shirt with a silver Jack o’ Lantern emblazened across the front (thank you Target) to show the world I know how to be festive while I walked me 3 yr. old “bat” around a friend’s neighborhood for more trick-or-treating madness than any little guy should get in one night. Party came afterwards, where my bat sank his fangs into: 1 chocolate covered donut, 1 chocolate cupcake, 1 slice of pizze, 1 chocolate eyeball and 2,000 candy corns. He pretty much flew home.

    • Hi Sam,
LOL. You were way more festive than me! I usually try and hide from Halloween. It’s not my favorite holiday, but I’ll leave that story-and reason why-for another year! Sounds like your bat had a great night! I imagine he not only flew home but flew around the house for a long time too! Thanks for stopping in!

    • Hi Tanya,
I know you have a Halloween spirit mate in Roseanne. She used to call it “The Holidays.” she was really into it. I’m too easily scared so it’s not my thing. (Yes, chicken girl right here!) Thanks for dropping by!

    • Hi Jen,
Wow! Look at you go! Nicely done. What a good mom you are. I’m so lame when it comes to visual creativity like that. I may have to send my daughter to you next year. LOL. Thanks for stopping in and congrats on the release of Stellarnet Prince! Very exciting!

  2. Not my favorite holiday either D. Maybe when I have grandkids it will be? Closest I got to it was having a haircut where everyone at the salon was in costume.
Anyway, I stayed at home that night and watched some TV. There are no kids in my neighborhood, so no trick or treaters, didn’t have to buy any candy, all is well here. : )

    • Hi Robena,
So glad I’m not alone in that respect. I feel like I’m the fun killer since I’m not a Halloween lover. I’m not a fan of things that make me scared, cringe or recoil in fear. LOL. Must be nice to get away without buying candy. I’m stuck with two bags that will eventually be glued to my thighs. Haha. Thanks for dropping in!

  3. May I refer to you from now on as “The Hand” ?
Didn’t dress up, but husband decided next year I should sit out front in full Halloween attire to hand out the candy. Don’t see that happening. LOL. We went through 8 bags of candy before 8 p.m. though, and the costumes on the little ones were so darn sweet.

    • Hi Lynne,
LOL. You wouldn’t be the first! (Kidding!) 8 bags!!! That’s insane! I made my husband hand out two of each and we still have over a bag and a half left. You could’ve handed out mine! Yeah, the sweet costumes don’t bother me. It’s the scary bloody ones I’m not a fan of. Thanks for coming by!
